Since the founding of the Black Student Coalition, the purpose of our programs has been to ensure that all members feel represented in spirit, purpose and community. We have aimed to renew and cultivate the categorical strengths that reside in all Black students. As we grow and empower our members to become excited, intellectual, and bold participants in the world, BSC maintains programs that encompass the support they will need now and forever more.
Leadership Development
We prioritize the leadership development of talented Black students. We believe that great leadership is not just an innate quality but can be developed and nurtured. Our program is designed to help you develop the skills and qualities you need to become an exceptional leader. What sets our program apart is our commitment to helping you become a well-rounded leader — one who is not only skilled but also ethical and socially responsible. We believe that leadership is not just about achieving results but also about making a positive impact on the world.
Peer Engagement
Our Peer Engagement Program provides you with a supportive community that understands your experiences and empowers you to thrive as a Black student. We believe that peer engagement is essential for building a sense of belonging and fostering a positive school culture. With our program, you'll build camaraderie and fellowship with like-minded students from other independent schools, along with access to workshops, events, and mentorship opportunities that help you build confidence, develop strong networks, and achieve your full potential.
Academic Enrichment
We believe academic excellence should be within reach for every member. Within our Academic Enrichment program, we maintain a curated directory of low-cost and free academic resources and support services, shared directly with our members and their families as part of membership — helping prepare you for college and beyond, so everyone always knows where to turn.
Coalition2College

Our Coalition2College Program is designed to support you in navigating the complex college process by giving you access to guidance and resources that help you navigate it with confidence. You'll form long-lasting relationships with other college applicants in BSC, as well as those admitted to the same colleges — with access to college counseling, workshops, and tours that help you identify your strengths, explore your options (including the financial aspect), and create a plan for success. You'll join other BSC members visiting the nation's top colleges and universities, and automatically become part of our BSC Alumni Group.
