Q: When do applications open to become a representative?
A: Applications for representatives are accepted on a rolling basis.
Q: What is the role of a representative?
A: Representatives support BSC by promoting BSC programs within their schools, encouraging students to attend meetings, helping to secure space for gatherings when possible, and motivating peers to join and participate in signature events such as Winter Wonderland, Birthday Dinners, Black History Month Celebration, Women's Brunch, and the BSC Whiteout Party.
Q: How long will I serve as a representative?
A: Depending on your grade level (rising 9th through 12th), you will serve until you step down or graduate.
Q: Does BSC give community service awards to student volunteers?
A: Yes. BSC recognizes student volunteers with community service awards for their dedication and contributions.
Q: What happens if I fail to comply with the Representative Code of Conduct?
A: Infractions may result in disciplinary action or removal from your position. Each situation will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
Q: Do I have to be a member to be a representative?
A: Yes. You must have an active BSC general membership to serve as a representative.
